EDITOR’S VOICE

This month (October), we are commemorating the “Language Month” (“Bulan Bahasa”). Language is an utterly essential part of our human lives. We communicate one another by using languages either verbal or non-verbal. In this case, language enables us to be truly human, as being human means being social. More ultimately, language is the first thing that opens up our way to understanding and comprehension. Everything we think, imagine, say, ask, argue, or discuss has always been conditioned by words, sentences, and finally language.

As an inevitable and inseparable part of human lives, language has power. Our dealing with language is not only limited to the social lives. It also pertains our cultural, economic, religious, educational, and political  fields.Just say a word, say it with power, and you will be amazed at its effects!

Having this simple consideration as point of departure, this time, the Publication Section of SEMA STFK Ledalero have agreed upon lifting “LANGUAGE AND POWER” as the theme of our wall magazine. For this, we convey or sincere gratitude to the brothers of CAMILIAN from grade II and III, who have made the compositions. Since all these articles adopt various perspectives, they are worth-reading for us to enrich our insight  as to  the raised issue and deepen our way of understanding it. What’s more is that this edition is produced in English. Therefore, making these articles as well as reading them also contribute in improving our English.
