Be Hero Every day!

What do you think when you hear someone say things related with hero? Hero is the word that can bring our mind to every big thing; hero is all about big things. It is related with big events, important history or object, and about men who had given their best for the life of human.

Hero is always about all people who has given goodness or truth for all human and creature. The title he/she was gotten from the others who believe and hope for the good development and growth of our life. They showed something is suitable to be our model nowadays. For example, our heroes in Indonesia, especially in Flores (for our nearer context). There are Motang Rua as Manggarai’s hero or Teka Iku as Sikka’s, Soekarno as national hero of Indonesian, and so on. They had their own effort, their own way, so that they are counted as heroes. Generally, they are concluded into heroes because they had shown that our effort for the goodness or truth should win although a lot of challenge we would face and a lot of people would attack us. They tried hard even until they died. For Indonesia’s existence the heroes had given the best.  They only thought about Indonesia and its existence. Their blood becomes red part of our flag and their bravery becomes white part of the one. They become heroes based on their goal, their way of effort, the result which are all about big things even amazing things.

Do you ever think that our selves can be heroes in our daily life? Maybe. But, most of us never care about the question, even less to answer the question. Most of us never realize that we have been being hero when we help our parents, when you lend your friends pen, when we throw rubbish into their place, when we do our task, when we pay attention for the poor, even when we smile with the others. It is all about small things. We try here construct a new concept about hero. Hero is not only about big things but also it includes small thing that we do with our sincere heart, that we do with love. Hero can seem in small, simple, common things we do or give for our family, friends, or our society.

The new concept of hero which is born from small, simple, and common things needs continual reflection in order to be internalization in our selves. If it has been our part of life, we will take our life for the best that we can do in our daily life. We will give our best everywhere and every moment we are. We construct a new life “I’m a hero” not because it’s titles by the others but by ourselves who have done the best things in usual life. The new concept lives our life because hero becomes our part of life that can’t be loosed.

Although, it can be small, simple, and common things in our daily life, we must remember that it doesn’t mean hero is the easy thing. The mind can be true in easy case but commonly hero is always difficult things because it need strength, power, bravery, willingness, and hope though all the ways seem closed and all the people go away because of fear, shame, status, or prestige. Nevertheless, hero always win facing the cruel world. So, show that you are hero too!
