Formatting Guidelines


1. Paper Size and Margins:

• Use standard letter-size (8.5 x 11 inches) paper.
• Set margins to 1 inch on all sides.

2. Font:

• Use a readable font such as Times New Roman, Arial, or Calibri.
• Font size should be 12-point for the main text.
• Use a consistent font throughout the paper.

3. Line Spacing:

• Use 1.25 spacing for the main text, 1 spacing for the title page, abstract, references, and appendices.
• Exceptions: block quotes, table captions, and figure captions can be single-spaced.

4. Title Page:

• Include the paper title, author's name, institutional affiliation, email, and application date.
• Font size should be 14-point.

5. Pagination:

• Number pages consecutively in the bottom right corner.
• Start page numbering from the title page (not displayed) and continue throughout the paper.

6. Abstract:

• Place the abstract on a separate section after the title section.
• Keep the abstract between 150-200 words.
• Font size should be 10-point, italic and 1 spacing.
• Use the appropriate citation style (e.g., APA, MLA, Chicago).

7. References:

• List all the sources cited in the paper on a separate References section.
• Use the MLA citation style.
• Arrange references alphabetically by the author's last name.
• In text citations should be included in the References
• References should consist of a minimum of 30 titles, with 80% being primary references and 20% secondary references.

8. Tables and Figures:

• Number tables and figures consecutively in the order they appear in the text.
• Provide clear and descriptive titles for tables and figures.
• Include a source note (if applicable) below the table or figure.
